Follow these five guides with your own sample artwork. The instant 10-day trial starts automatically on first launch; paid purchases have a 30-calendar-day refund window, including after activation.

INSTALL AUTOSEP
Install AutoSep · Captioned instructional slides · No audio

Download this video

Get the current installer from the official BS4U website. This captioned guide is not a live screen recording.

  1. DOWNLOAD & EXTRACT — Start with the complete ZIP

Save the ZIP, right-click it and choose Extract All. Open the extracted folder. Do not run Setup from inside the compressed ZIP.

  2. BACK UP BEFORE UPDATING — Protect your jobs and artwork

Close AutoSep and back up existing jobs and production settings. Keep the installer and your purchase email.

  3. VERIFY & INSTALL — Use the supplied verification information

Compare the installer SHA-256 with the supplied record. The current Early Access installer is unsigned. Contact support about publisher warnings; do not disable security protections.

  4. FOLLOW SETUP — Run the Setup EXE

Read the license agreement and accept only if you agree. Complete installation. Python and Photoshop are not required.

  5. OPEN AUTOSEP — Trial or existing paid activation

On an unlicensed computer, the 10-day trial starts automatically on first launch. An existing paid license remains active.

Download from bs4uautosepstudio.com. No invitation, trial checkout or manually issued trial license is required.

  1. START ON FIRST LAUNCH — Use an unlicensed computer

Install and open AutoSep. The automatic trial begins on first launch, rather than when you click Download.

  2. EXISTING PAID ACTIVATION — Your license remains active

A previously activated computer keeps its paid license. The automatic trial applies to unlicensed computers.

  3. TRY A SMALL REAL JOB — Use artwork you are authorized to use

Test your separation method, plate review and FilmRIP workflow. Check actual film dimensions, registration and density before production.

  4. AFTER THE TRIAL — Purchase and activate a paid license

A valid paid license is required for continued production after the trial expires. Reinstalling is not a new trial. Ask support about license problems.

  5. PAID PURCHASE REFUNDS — 30 calendar days, including after activation

Email support@bs4uautosepstudio.com within 30 calendar days of purchase with your order details. Refunded licenses are canceled.

OPTIONAL BACKGROUND REMOVAL
Remove Background · Captioned instructional slides · No audio

Open your graphic before separating it. This offline tool removes edge-connected color backgrounds; it is not an AI subject cutout.

  1. EXAMPLE: WHITE OUTER BACKGROUND — Keep enclosed artwork highlights

For a logo on a plain white outer background, preview removal of the edge background. White details enclosed inside the design can remain.

  2. PREVIEW FIRST — Choose the background color

Use the dominant edge color or your chosen RGB color. Inspect the artwork preview before applying the removal.

  3. ADJUST THE EDGE — Tolerance & feathering

Increase tolerance gradually to include similar background shades. Adjust feathering to soften the edge. Inspect small details and light-colored artwork carefully.

  4. APPLY OR CANCEL — Keep control of the result

Apply when the preview is suitable, or cancel. Confirm any requested replacement of an existing plate set. Restore the original when needed.

  5. SAVE & SEPARATE — Transparent PNG when needed

Save a PNG to preserve transparency. Then generate and review the separation. A busy photograph may require different artwork preparation.

MERGE ONLY SELECTED COLORS
Merge Selected Plates · Captioned instructional slides · No audio

Download this video

Generate the initial plate set, then open Proof & Plate Review. Review each plate and the garment proof.

  1. EXAMPLE: PLATES 1 AND 4 — Independent selection

Click the first desired plate row and the fourth desired plate row. The second and third plates should remain unselected. No Ctrl key is required.

  2. CHECK THE COUNT — Two selected means two merge targets

Click a selected row again to deselect it. Clear Selection resets your choices. Confirm the selection count before using Merge Selected.

  3. MERGE SELECTED — Only the highlighted plates

Use Merge Selected and inspect the resulting plate and proof. Retain any other plates needed for production.

  4. SET THE PRINT ORDER — Move Up • Move Down

Reorder plates with Move Up or Move Down. Review the proof again after changing colors, plate order or other settings.

  5. SAVE & APPROVE — Keep the edited live plates

Save to History and approve the revision where required. View, Export, Print and Reprint use the current live plates. Do not rerun automatic separation just to output edits.

FILMRIP & YOUR FIRST FILM
FilmRIP Output · Captioned instructional slides · No audio

Start with reviewed live plates. Physical results depend on the actual Windows driver, printer, ink, film and calibrated shop settings.

  1. SELECT THE SHOP PROFILE — Use Selected Profile

Open BS4U FilmRIP and choose the printer profile. Confirm output DPI, physical dimensions, film polarity, mirroring and registration marks.

  2. CHECK DENSITY SETTINGS — Review changes before output

If Apply Density to Live Plates changes the plates, review and approve them again where required, then re-export the films.

  3. PREFLIGHT THE CURRENT FILM — Prepare 1-Bit Spool Raster

Choose a current exported film and resolve preflight messages. A changed job or stale film requires review and fresh export.

  4. EXPORT OR DIRECT PRINT — Select the actual Windows printer

Use the reviewed film export or the installed printer queue. Double Strike sends two passes; some printers need accurate manual refeeding.

  5. MEASURE BEFORE EXPOSURE — Qualify the real shop process

Check size, orientation, registration, density and detail on a test film. Generic profiles are starting points, not certified hardware combinations. Save the matching job and output.
